PSIRF
HTG-UK operates in line with the NHS Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF). This framework underpins our approach to managing patient safety incidents within the Patient Transport Service.
Our incident response is risk-based and proportionate, with an emphasis on learning, improvement and system-wide safety. We engage openly with patients, families, staff, commissioners and system partners to ensure meaningful learning and sustained improvement.
Outcomes from incident responses inform service development, staff training and quality improvement initiatives across our PTS operations.
We are committed to providing safe, high-quality patient transport services and to continually learning from patient safety incidents.
We follow the NHS Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), which focuses on understanding what happened, why it happened, and how we can improve care and reduce the risk of harm in the future.
Under PSIRF, our response to patient safety incidents is proportionate, supportive and learning-focused. We prioritise compassionate engagement with patients, families and staff, and work collaboratively with our commissioners and partners to improve safety across our services.
Learning from incidents is shared appropriately and used to drive continuous improvement in our Patient Transport Service.
